Happy National Nurses' Week!

Happy National #NursesWeek! The American Nurses Association has supported nurses and the nursing profession since 1896 and founded this annual celebration, which begins May 6 on #NationalNursesDay and ends May 12, the birthdate of Florence Nightingale.

Did you know that BHDD Office of Mental Health is home to more than 300 Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses across the state who serve in multiple capacities? They are vital to our inpatient facilities, community mental health centers, and long-term care facilities.

On any “regular” day, these professionals play a variety of roles in many settings, often challenging, and must be adaptable and efficient. Their contributions are invaluable. The work BHDD Office of Mental Health’s nurses are doing to keep our patients, residents, and fellow staff safe and healthy during the Covid-19 Pandemic is heroic. THANK YOU, BHDD Office of Mental Health Nurses, and Nurses everywhere!
